1307 – CHAMPAGNE PERRIER JOUËT BELLE EPOQUE BRUT 2013
Characteristics: It was in 1811, in Epernay, when Pierre-Nicolas Perrier, a cork stopper in his profession, married Adèle Jouët. Their union will seal the birth of the Perrier-Jouët trading house. Perrier-Jouët makes the first «dirty» champagne in history in 1854 (under the initiative of her son Charles), but she is also the first «maison» to mention the broth and the year of harvest on the label. Thanks to his notoriety, Perrier-Jouët became the official supplier of Queen Victoria, but also of the court of Napoleon III and the royal families of Sweden and Belgium. Like the master craftsmen who pass on their secrets of manufacture, seven winemakers have succeeded one another and have privileged quality over quantity in order to preserve the treasures of the Maison, such as the 1825 harvest which is the oldest vintage. known in Champagne.
