Nowadays, it is obvious to present the Moët & Chandon champagne, the most important house of Champagne, owner of the historic abbey of Hautvilliers. Its dimensions, its reputation, its universality … all its facets make it a real standard for the most famous sparkling wine on the planet. The richness of the vineyard of his property and its cellars allow him to make the best-selling Champagne in the world. A sparkling wine full of freshness, elegance and seduction. Moët & Chandon has more than 1000 hectares of vineyards in 15 of the 17 great Champagne vintages. The Moët & Chandon Winery founded in 1743 by Claude Moët, Moët et Chandon began as Moët et Cie (Moët & Co), along with Épernay, a wine merchant and began shipping their Champagne wine to Paris.
The reign of King Louis XV coincided with the growing demand for sparkling wine, and shortly after its founding, the winery’s clientele included nobles and aristocrats. After the introduction of the concept of vintage champagne in 1840, Moët marketed his first harvest in 1842. His best-selling brand, Brut Imperial, was introduced in the 1860s. His best-known label, Dom Pérignon, refers to a Benedictine monk remembered as the “Father of the Champagne”. Moët & Chandon merged with Hennessy Cognac in 1971 and Louis Vuitton in 1987 to become LVMH (Louis-Vuitton-Moët-Hennessy), the world’s largest luxury group, with more than 16 billion ‘euros in fiscal year 2004. It is also the official supplier of champagne to Queen Elizabeth II.

Vinification: According to the traditional Champagne method, from a blend starring the Pinot Noir variety (40-50%, of which 10% is vinified in red), seconded by Pinot Meunier and a small percentage of Chardonnay.
